BASIC RESEARCH: 1st > 3rd year Design Informatics course aims to instruct students in skills to work in a networked, computational environment, assuming that networked computing environments will have an ever-increasing impact on the profession.
- This course will set up a basic framework (techniques, skills and working methods) familiarising students with the networked environment. We will also encourage open-sourced, research and problem based methods and hope to create computer programmes that suit our teaching goals.
- The course runs parallel of the TVB-SHS curriculum, with occasional correspondences. Students and teachers are encouraged not to rely on existing tools (which limit our capacities in stating design and pedagogical issues) but rather, create our own tools. (see Part - 1).
- We will experiment with various architecture student/teacher and computation experts groupings, trying to arrive at a workable mix of people in light of the changing environment.
DESIGN / RESEARCH EXPERIMENTS 4th and 5th year Design Research programme is a loosely structured collection of aims and goals. Teachers can choose to construct Design Units based on these. Students can choose Dissertation and Thesis propositions.
