Studies of the multiplicities internal to a single building; taking a building as the limit of analysis. This series serves as a basis for further conceptual writings. The On Typology/Mapping? Heterology series of writings and the Solar and Industrial Infrastructures draw heavily on the dynamics texts.
Architecture inscribes space.
The Dynamics... texts work with questions inscribing the codes of 'culture'. That is, knowledges that programme the building as a formal object, and located in areas where bourgeois motivations that feed the Architectural consider their continuance as a Bourgeoisie responsibility. I enter their interstices, laying bare their intrinsic folly ... dis-abeling their force by describing it.
In the absence of crystalline languages of desire one is still required to act meaningfully. This involve the risk of being 'captured' by the very forces one needs to describe. Which calls for yet another 'state' of mind: one has to choose alienation. What does no longer matter is my belief, my value system, my narrative, my opinion: these are forsaken in favour of another level. That of my Animality, and the restraints one could win over it. One enacts - even celebrates - the primal terrors suppressed by the 'rational' acts of State. The result is bountiful. Look at Stone Age art for example.
One studies multiplicities internal to a single building; taking a building as the limit of analysis. One studies the typlogical instituted[s] within a given architecture in its Fossilic State: i.e., the inscriptions or marks of the state, internal regulative principles, codes of inner coherence. The Dynamics studies assume the core inscription of architecture to be hieroglyphic marks of the "I".
It is clearly understood that the meaning of any given work of architecture is shared equally by its conditions of Being (i.e., the Fossilic) and the techniques of its making.
Simultaneous to writing; it becomes necessary to evolve techniques of drawing (that is, dissecting and representing) architectural artefacts. These techniques are evolved through an appraisal of the meanings contained within the techniques (of making) the building.
There are seven Dynamics of Meaning texts as of now.
